Seamus and Sally

Seamus and Sally run very much a team operation with experienced and dedicated staff.

Seamus is a hands-on trainer, feeding his horses morning and night and has often been heard talking to them in quieter moments. He has had a thorough education in racing and enjoys living in the historic Wilsford Stables with his family where he has established himself as a top racehorse trainer.

Sally

Sally jointly runs the business with Seamus, which they started together in October 1985 with just 2 Point to Pointers. By the end of that season they had 5 horses, with their first double coming in March 1986, their first season. In those days Sally and Seamus did the horses on their own with Sally riding out, leading up, driving the lorry, plaiting the horses at the races while Seamus was still being jockey! Between 1985 and 1992 the number of horses increased to 17 and it was at this point they decided to make the next progessive step to a full trainers licence under rules and quite appropriately their first winner was The Mrs at Nottingham.

Sally plays a very active part in the day to day running of the yard ensuring all runs smoothly. Sally is Director of Finance keeping her finger on the pulse which enables Seamus to give his full attention to the horses. She is very adept and often drives the lorry to the races and can be found saddling our runners and ensuring our owners have a good day.
